Cross country men 2nd, women 7th in home invitational; check out photo gallery

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Bard College men's cross country team placed second in the team scoring in the Bard Invitational on Saturday afternoon.

The women's team placed seventh.

St. Joseph's College of Long Island ran away with the men's race, placing four runners in the top 10 and finishing with 24 points. Bard was next with 83 points, followed closely by Hunter College with 86.

Eric Reed was Bard's top finisher, taking ninth overall. Alex Goodlad was 11th, while Lucas Hamilton, Jesse Starkey and Jonathan Von Reusner placed 20th, 21st and 22nd, respectively.

On the women's side, St. Joseph's was once again the winner, this time with 34 points. Mount Saint Mary College took second, and the Culinary Institute of America was third.

For Bard, Sorrel Dunn was the top finisher, taking 23rd overall. She was followed by Lorna Brundrett, Lauren Barnes, Imani Jones and Bianka Bell.

Next weekend, Bard will travel to nearby Newburgh, N.Y., to compete in the Mount Saint Mary College Invitational.
