Instructional Classes

The following classes are being offered for Bard Students, Faculty, Staff,  Family Members of Faculty and Staff, and Community Gym Members who have a valid facility swipe card. 

All classes take place in the Stevenson Athletic Center - Instructional Classroom #1 (last room on the right down the squash court hallway) with the exception of Spin Class which is on the Squash Court Mezzanine.

We will also be offering a special EMDR Workshop on Tuesday, June 23, from 4:00-6:00 pm.  The fee will be $55 and will be open to the general public, so feel free to pass on to your friends. Personal Training

This program is available to all Bard Students, Faculty, and Staff. Meet one-on-one with a certified personal trainer who will design a customized and comprehensive fitness program to help you maximize your fitness. Our trainers strive to empower their clients to reach their full potential through motivation as well as providing accountability and education. Whether you need to make modifications to your present program or want to begin a new program, a personal trainer is available to work with you to help you attain your health and fitness goals.All sessions take place in the Stevenson Athletic Center one-on-one with your own certified personal trainer. 

To get started you will need to complete the personal training interest form below and hit submit. Once you do this, one of our personal trainers will contact you within 3-5 business days. In order to begin a personal training program you must first complete a fitness assessment at an additional cost.

All personal training sessions must be paid for in advance and must be received by the Business Manager, Jamie Hooper. 
Payments can be made via credit card, check, or cash.

All sessions are one hour in length. 

Participants must complete a mandatory fitness assessment with a personal trainer prior to the start of a personal training program. The fitness assessment is a series of assessments and/or movement screens to determine your current level of physical fitness and movement patterns. The data from the fitness assessment is used to design a personalized fitness program specifically tailored to help you move better and achieve your goals. Some of the many benefits of a fitness assessment include:
  • Evaluation of your ability to move through basic, fundamental movement patterns
  • Identification of your strengths and weaknesses 
  • Establishing fitness goals and level of motivation
  • Monitoring of progress toward achieving fitness goals
  • Determination of potential areas of health or injury risk to help the trainers determine if you can start a new exercise program without consulting a physician. If any health issues are identified that require medical clearance, our trainers can help facilitate this process.
The fitness assessment is also available, at the same rates, to students, faculty and staff that do not wish to purchase a personal training program.

Policies
  • In order to begin a personal training program you must also complete a mandatory fitness assessment at an additional cost.
  • Late Policy: Instructors will only wait 15 minutes after a scheduled time for participants. After a 15 minute period, the session is considered canceled. Sessions that start late will still end at the scheduled time, barring extenuating circumstances.
  • No Show Policy: If you do not show for the scheduled session with your trainer AND you do not give a cancellation or advance notice you forfeit your session.
  • Refund Policy: All packages are non-refundable.
